Meet Amber: Our FIRST "Guest" Girls on the Run Blogger

Alright folks. It’s been a very, Very, VERY long time since I’ve posted anything on this blog. I apologize for that.

So to keep the blog fresh and fun, I’m going to occasionally have guest bloggers on. The responsibility of the guest blogger will last about a month and she will tell a little bit about herself and then take questions from you about issues that may be challenging you. OR you can just send her your comments about Girls on the Run and how it has changed your life. Whatever you want to say or write is just fine!

So…my first guest blogger is a fab girl named Amber. I coached Amber in Girls on the Run, several years ago. Amber wasn’t necessarily someone who really loved the running (lol), but she did love serving as a leader and now as a role model to younger girls. Here is a little bit about her and then an awesome invitation from her for you to join in on the conversation.

“My name is Amber. I did Girls on The Run 2 years in a row. I was in 3rd and 4th grade when I did Girls on the Run. I am in 7th grade now and things I learned from Girls on the Run still help me in life. Now I can help you.
My birthday is on August 14. I am 12 years old. Almost all of my cousins are boys so I LOVE sports. Football is my favorite. I also have a passion for music and dance. All my cousins who taught me sports love music as well. My older cousins Darrian and Trey both play guitar. I have been dancing since I was 7 and singing since I was 5. A lot of times I will get together with Trey and Darrian and write songs. I have 1 younger sister and 1 older sister. My older sister is 20 and she is a junior at Michigan State. She is majoring in child psychology. My younger sister is 10 and she is a 5th grader at a school in the town where I live. She has been training for the 2016 gymnastics Olympics. She trains at the local YMCA. My mom is a manager at NBC news channel. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. (GO VOLS!!!) My dad is the owner of a construction company. He was accepted to the University of Tennessee on a football scholarship. I’m very proud of my family.

Girls on the Run taught me how to be myself. If you go through life trying to be like other people then you will never know who you really are.

So now it’s your turn. As Molly said above, she and I will be discussing some of those things in life that can challenge a girl. So come on! Send your questions and comments to me at GOTRgurl@yahoo.com. Every Wednesday I’ll post some of your questions and Molly and I will answer them on this blog.

Live, Love, Music,

Amber
